Look in the template_configuration.php for changing color and the width of the right modules. You can also change the desired screen resolution.
For problems with your editor define the "editor_content.css" as custom edit CSS. For mosCE just say yes to "override template file". For standard tinymce WYSIWYG look in mambots->tinymce WYSIWYG->parameters. There you can put in the complete path to the editor_content.css
